Venous stenting…

Venous stenting – all done.

But… is it important in the grand scheme of things?

Thought you’d heard the last of me? Well – as far as my csf leak journey is concerned, I have now had a transverse sinus stent fitted to help the blood flow in my jugular this week. It should prevent a build up of pressure in my head and stop the head pain, spasms and jerks. You can see the tiny access point in my neck (although my neck feels very tender now!) and they put a 4mm x 60mm stent across the back of my head. My neuroradiologist in Cambridge is my absolute hero and I tell him every time I see him! He phones me to see how I am and goes above and beyond to ensure he fully understands what I am going through and does anything he can to help. This could now be the end of the road for treatment. This should be it – the final step. The final step to further improve my health and in the big scheme of things, it really is quite inconsequential compared to what my twin sister, Lou, is going through – dealing with cancer. I know she feels the same as me though and supports me all the way. I just wish she was feeling better – there always seems to be a new battle for her.

You know what I think? We all deserve a twin. That special person. I’m privileged and know that I am. We are two of a kind. We are one. We will always be one. We’re on the road to brighter health and whatever happens, we’ll be there for one another. Love you Twinny Sis

EDIT – May 2020 – All finished.  No more treatment required.  85% improvement and I’m happy with that. I owe everything to my doctors in Stoke and Cambridge – everything.  🙂

Sweet dreams,
